According to the calculations put forth by Hindu Panchang, this week is going to begin with Krishna Paksha’s Trayodashi Tithi (August 17) and the Shukla Paksha’s Panchami Tithi (August 23). If we talk about fasts & festivals, then on August 17, the fast of Masik Shivratri is going to be observed. People observe fast on this day and perform Pujas to appease Lord Shiva.
After this, there is a event of Bhadrapada Amavasya on August 19 i.e. Wednesday. The significance of this day remains limited to the salvation of the departed souls, donation and Kaal-Sarp Dosha. On 21st August, married women will observe the fast of Hartalika Teej for their husbands’ long life and happiness. The festival of Ganesh Chaurthi will be celebrated on August 22, Saturday.
