  • The most important thing to keep in mind while fasting is that your body should be well hydrated throughout the day. For this, one must consume at least 7-8 glasses of water on the day of fast.
  • Being on an empty stomach for a long duration can cause acidity. To avoid this, keep having fruits at regular intervals of half an hour or so.
  • Consume juicy fruits like oranges, sweet lime, etc., to maintain a good water level in the body.
  • You can have buttermilk with some fruits in the morning. Along with this, you can also eat almonds soaked in milk.

  • If you consume rock salt during the fast, you can enjoy dishes made from sago (Sabudana) at lunch. Apart from this, you can eat Puris made with buckwheat (Kuttu Ka Atta) along with potato curry during lunch. You can also have a bowl of curd along with it.
  • If you refrain from consuming rock salt, you can either consume milk or have curd during lunch. You can also have a sweet dish made with milk. It is better if you use jaggery instead of sugar.
  • Banana is considered a completed meal in itself. Therefore, you must include bananas in your meals during the fast. It will keep you energised throughout the day.
  • In the evening, you can have dry fruits as snacks with tea. Apart from this, you can eat different types of chips made especially for the fasts that are available in the market.
