The Parana of Rohini Vrat is performed at the beginning of Margashirsha Nakshatra and after the end of Rohini Nakshatra. The fast of Maa Rohini will be observed on November 3, 2020. 

Rohini Nakshatra will commence from November 2 at 11:51 PM and will last till November 4 upto 2:30 PM.

Generally, the twenty-seventh day of the month falls under Rohini Nakshatra and the day holds significance for observing Rohini fast.

Rohini Vrat Puja Vidhi

  • On this day, women wake up early in the morning and get ready to perform worship. 
  • There is a ritual of venerating Bhagwan Vasupujya on this very day. 
  • Place Panchratan, copper or golden idol of Bhagwan Vasupujya at the place of worship. 
  • After venerating, offer fruits, flowers, clothes and Naivedya as Bhog. 
  • Along with fasting, the day also holds immeasurable significance in the pretext of performing donation.

Significance of Rohini Vrat

Married women wish for the long life of their husbands on the day of Rohini Vrat. It is believed that the fast of Maa Rohini removes poverty from the households and blesses the family with peace, prosperity and tranquility. During the worship, the natives pray to Maa Rohini seeking apology for the mistakes committed consciously and unconsciously and remove all kinds of sufferings from their lives. The fast is observed without having anything and is observed when the Rohini Nakshatra is in a dominant state after the sunrise.

One who observes this fast has to observe it consecutively for 3, 5, or 7 years. However, those who are unable to observe it consecutively, are advised to observe the same for at least 5 months. The fast is considered to be fruitful if observed for the period of 5 months or 5 years.
