Paush Putrada Ekadashi Pujan Vidhi
We have already told you that Sudarshan Chakradhari Lord Vishnu is worshipped on this very day. In this regard, let us go through the Pujan Vidhi of this very fast.
- The observers must take Satvik Bhojan before the day of the fast i.e. Dashami. Also, they must follow the path of Brahmacharya and restrain from bad thoughts.
- Wake up early in the morning and take a reslove to fast on the day of Ekadashi. Now, meditate on Lord Vishnu and worship him.
- Must include Gangajal, Tulsi, sesame, flowers, Panchamrit etc. in the worship of this very day.
- This Vrat has to be observed without consuming water. However, if you wish you can eat fruits after lighting Diya/lamp and performing donation in the evening.
- The very next day of the fast i.e. Dwadashi, perform donation and serve the needy as per your financial ability. After this, break your fast.

Legends Pertaining to Paush Putrada Ekadashi
Once upon a time, there would be a king named Suketu in Bhadravati city. His wife’s name was Shaivya. They had all the happiness but they were not blessed with a child. After being sick and tired of everything, the king and his queen gave their kingdom to minister and went to a forest. During this, they hit upon the idea of committing suicide but the king thought that suicide would not be a solution to any problem. All of a sudden, they heard some lines of Vedas from a monk and advanced towards that direction.
After covering some distance, they met the monk and asked him about his worship. The monk replied that he had been observing Paush Putrada Ekadashi Vrat and told them about its significance. They did the same on the next Ekadashi and got blessed with a child with its influence. In this regard, it is believed that whosoever childless couples perform worship and observe fast on this very day, get blessed with a child.
