October Month Religious Significance

The month of October 2023 will begin in the month of Ashwin and end in the month of Kartik, according to the Hindu calendar. Let us remind you that the seventh month of the year is Ashwin. This year, it will begin on September 30, 2023 and end on October 28, 2023. It falls between September and October on the English calendar. This month is significant because it includes the festivals of Shardiya Navratri and Dussehra, in addition to Pitru Paksha.

The month of Ashwin is dedicated to Maa Durga. It is predicted that the Sun will steadily weaken beginning this month. Because the influence of Saturn and Tamas intensifies this month, doing auspicious work is forbidden. Ashwin 2023 will begin with Pitru Paksha. In such a case, this month is very significant for ancestral blessings.

The month of Ashwin, by the way, is divided into two sections. The first is the Krishna Paksha, in which Pitrupaksha is lying and prayers are performed for the peace of the ancestors’ souls. The second is Shukla Paksha, which includes observing the Navratri fast and worshiping Maa Durga in nine different forms for nine days. Sharadiya Navratri is the name for this. In addition, major holidays like as Dussehra, Ashtami, and Mahanavami will be observed.

After it, the holy month of Kartik begins. This month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is also highly special to Lord Vishnu. Tulsi devotion with Lord Vishnu is regarded especially important in this month. Tulsi and Shaligram marry in this month. In the month of Kartik, ganga bathing, lamp donation, yagya, and rituals are highly beneficial. Lord Vishnu awakens from his four-month slumber on the day of Devotthan Ekadashi this month and assumes responsibility for the creation again.
