What Is Neech Bhang Raj Yoga?

The term Neech Bhang Raj Yoga alone conveys the significance of this yoga. When a planet is placed in the sign of its debilitation, if it gets placed with a planet which is getting exalted in the same sign or aspected by the planet which gets exalted in that very sign then the debilitation or the ‘Neecha’ of the planet is canceled. That’s when the Neech Bhang Raj Yoga is formed in a horoscope. The planet having its debilitation or ‘Neecha’ canceled will bestow the person with immense wealth, fame and success during its Mahadasha.

A Neech Bhang Raj Yog is formed when both planets the one which is in debilitation and the one  that is exalted are placed respectively in the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th(kendra houses) and align with each other or if forming in houses like 6th or the 8th house should be forming Vipreet Rajyoga as well for it to be truly functional as Neech Bhang Raj Yoga.

for example: If a person has a Gemini Ascendant in his/her horoscope and Venus is placed in the sign of Virgo (Venus is debilitated in Virgo) then if Mercury is also placed in the Sign of Virgo (Mercury’s exaltation sign is Virgo) or if it aspects the sign of Virgo then the debilitation or ‘Neecha’ of Venus gets canceled. Such a placement of Mercury and Venus give rise to the Neech Bhang. We will further see what conditions need to be fulfilled for this placement or any such placement of planets for it to become a ‘Neech Bhang Raj Yoga’.

Conditions for Neech Bhang Raj Yoga to be functional

A Neech Bhang Raj Yoga if present in a native’s kundli, he/she will be very capable of overcoming every odd in his/her life and pave a path of success on their own, without anyone’s help. This yoga can bestow the native with name, fame, respect, immense wealth and good health as well. A point to remember here is that prominent results will be visible only during the ‘Dasha’ of the planet attaining Neech Bhang or cancellation of debilitation.

We all know by now that for a Neech Bhang Raj Yoga to be formed it is important for a planet to have its ‘Neech Bhang’ or debilitation canceled, but it is not the only condition needed to be fulfilled for this conjunction of a debilitated planet and an exalted planet to turn into a ‘Rajyoga’. There are many other conditions to be taken into consideration when seeing the formation of this yoga. Let’s have a look at all those conditions.

  • One of the requirements states that the Neech Bhang Raj Yoga is formed if a planet is put in a kundli’s debilitated sign and the ruling lord of that sign is placed in the Kendra Bhava from the sign where the Moon is positioned.
  • Another rule states that the Neech Bhang Raj Yoga is created when a planet is in a debilitated sign and the Uccha planet or the Uccha sign lord (a planet in its exalted sign in an exalted state) of that sign is seated in the Kendra sign from the Moon.
  • There’s a rule which states that the Neech Bhang Raj Yoga is formed if a planet is in a debilitated sign and the sign’s ruling lord is placed in the Kendra Houses, or the first, fourth, seventh, or tenth house from the Lagna of a kundli.
  • Neech Bhang Raj Yoga is formed in one more way when a planet is in its debilitated sign and the ruling planet of that debilitated sign is aspecting its exalted sign.
  • If the planet which is debilitated in the birth chart gets exalted in the navamsa chart then also Neech Bhang Raj Yoga is formed.
  • One last and very important condition to be fulfilled is that both the planets, the one which is debilitated and the one in its exalted state, both should be functional benefics for that particular ascendant.
