siṃhāsanagatā nityaṃ padmāśritakaradvayā। śubhadāstu sadā devī skandamātā yaśasvinī॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣumāṃ skandamātā rūpeṇa saṃsthitā। namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo nama:।।”

Rituals while Venerating Maa Skandamata
- Wake up early in the morning, take a bath and venerate Maa Skandamata on Panchmi.
- Must worship Lord Kartikeya along with Maa Skandamata on this day.
- In worship, offer Kumkum, Akshat, fruits, flowers etc.
- Apply Kumkum to Maa and light Diya/lamp filled with pure (Desi) Ghee.
- Recite the Mantra during the worship. – ॐ देवी स्कन्दमातायै नमः” / – oṃ devī skandamātāyai namaḥ”
- Offer bananas to the Maa and take this as Prasad.
- Must distribute Prasad of this day among Brahmins. It is said that one who does the same, is blessed with higher wisdom.
