Hearing all this from the surroundings, the Brahmin was very unhappy and after this incident, someone advised them to worship Mother Kali for 16 continuous days.

The Brahmin couple followed the suggestion and worshiped Mother Kali for 16 consecutive days following the rituals. Pleased with the worship of the couple, Goddess Kali appeared before them on the 16th day and blessed the Brahmin’s wife with pregnancy. Also, the mother initiated the couple to light one lamp on the Purnima day and gradually increase the number of lamps by one on every Purnima.
