The Purnima date of Shulka Paksha of Vaishakh month will start from 15th May 2022, 12:47 am on Sunday, and will remain till 09:45 pm on the next day i.e. 16th May, Monday.

  • To avoid the negative effects of the lunar eclipse, chant the Mantra “ॐ क्षीरपुत्राय विद्महे अमृत तत्वाय धीमहि तन्नो चन्द्रः प्रचोदयात्/ oṃ kṣīraputrāya vidmahe amṛta tatvāya dhīmahi tanno candraḥ pracodayāt”.
  • Eating is also prohibited during the Sutak period. Along with this, sleeping, cutting nails and hair, and doing sexual activities should also be avoided during this time.
  • Apart from this, during the Sutak period, brushing, combing the hair, and excreting urine should also be avoided.
  • Do not do any new or demanding work during the eclipse period.
  • Worship the Moon. It is also appropriate to perform the Chandra Grahan Dosha Nivaran Puja for lunar eclipse peace.
  • After the end of the Sutak period, sprinkle Gangajal all over the house.
  • Pregnant women should avoid using sharp objects like knives, scissors, needles, etc. during the eclipse.
