Goddess Mahagauri is bright, elegant, extremely fair complexioned, wearing white clothes, and adorned with jewels. Goddess Mahagauri is depicted as a beautiful goddess with four arms, her right hand in Abhaya Mudra, holding a trident, and a Damru, riding a white bull. She is also known as Shivaa since she holds a Damru like Lord Shiva.

This year, the Ashtami Tithi or Maha Ashtami will be observed on March 29th, 2023. The Chaitra Shukla Ashtami Tithi will begin at 7:02 pm on March 28th, 2023, and end at 9:07 pm on March 29th, 2023.

Things To Keep In Mind While Performing Kanya Pujan On Ashtami
There are many devotees that perform Kanya Pujan on Ashtami Tithi of Chaitra Navratri and it is considered auspicious to do so on this day. Hence, if you will be performing the Kanya Pujan on Ashtami as well, you should be mindful of very minor rituals that can increase the importance of this day along with the result of this Puja as well.
- Make sure the girls are under the age of 10 years and older than 2 years.
- There are different designations assigned to each age of the girls, where a two-year-old is Kumari, a three-year-old is Trimurti, a four-year-old is Kalyani, a five-year-old is Rohini, a six-year-old is Kaalika, a seven-year-old is Chandika, an eighth-year-old is Shambhavi, a nine-year-old is Durga, and finally, a ten-year-old is Subhrada.
