There are many devotees that perform Kanya Pujan on Ashtami Tithi of Chaitra Navratri and it is considered auspicious to do so on this day.   • Make sure the girls are under the age of 10 years and older than 2 years.
  • There are different designations assigned to each age of the girls, where a two-year-old is Kumari, a three-year-old is Trimurti, a four-year-old is Kalyani, a five-year-old is Rohini, a six-year-old is Kaalika, a seven-year-old is Chandika, an eighth-year-old is Shambhavi, a nine-year-old is Durga, and finally, a ten-year-old is Subhrada.
