He was deeply sorrowful because he had no children. Despite seeking advice from many priests, nothing changed. The noblemen of his court advised him to approach Saint Lomesh for a solution.

Saint Lomesh, through his meditation, found the reason behind the King’s sorrow. In his previous birth, the King had been a rude merchant who valued only money. During a journey, when he felt thirsty and went to a pond to drink water, a cow also came to drink from the same pond. The merchant drove her away forcibly and drank the water himself. That single act of denying water to a thirsty creature had carried its consequences into his next birth, where he suffered the sorrow of remaining childless.
