In ancient times, a gardener named Hem lived at the palace of King Kubera In the city Alkapur. His job was to bring flowers from Mansarovar every day for carrying out worshipping rituals for Lord Shiva. On one fine day, he reached the court very late after picking up the flowers, which angered Lord Kubera. Out of this, he cursed Hem to live a poor life suffering from Leprosy. The gardener kept wandering here and there due to the influence of curse and led a disheveled life.
One day while wandering, he reached the Ashram of Rishi Markandeya. With his powers, the Sage understood his sorrow and asked him to observe the Yogini Ekadashi Fast. with the effect of this fast, his body got cured and he attained salvation.

Yogini Ekadashi fast begins from the night of Dashami. The one who is fasting must consume simple food on the night of Dashami and follow the rules of celibacy. Also, maintain governmental guidelines regarding social distancing and avoid going out when performing the rituals. If necessary, take measures and stay safe.
