Vastu Shastra: Know About Vastu Dosh & Vastu Tips

Vastu Dosh is eliminated using Vastu Tips. Vastu Shastra is a renowned ancient science in India under which the systematic process of home, building and temple construction is done. It is also known as Vastu Kala. in this aspect, directions holds of a great significance. Although there are 4 main directions (North, South, East and West), but in Vastu Shastra, there are 6 different directions along with these, which are Sky (Aakash), Underworld (Pataal), Northeast (Ishaan), Southeast (Aagneya), Southwest (Nairitya) and Northwest (Vayavya).

Directions in Vastu Shastra

  • East Direction is ruled by the Sun, and as per Vastu, Lord Indra is the ruling deity of this direction. It denotes happiness and prosperity.
  • Northeast Direction (Ishaan) is ruled by Lord Shiva and lies between North and East.
  • Direction lying between East and South is called Southeast (Aagneya) Direction. Lord Agni is the ruling deity of this direction, whereas Lord Yama rules the South direction. It denotes serenity and affluence.
  • Southwest (Nairitya) Direction lies between South and West and is governed by Demons as per Vastu. It offers Vastu Dosh, accidents and Mental stress.
  • West Direction is ruled by Lord Varun and as per Vastu Shastra, Lord Shanidev is the worshipping deity of this direction. It denotes popularity and luck.
  • Northwest (Vayavya) Direction lies between North and West, and has Lord Vayu as its ruling god. It represents good or bad relations with neighbors, friends and relatives.
  • Lord Kuber rules the North Direction and ruled by Mercury. It is also reflected as a representative of Mother and motherhood.

Vastu Dosh: What Is It?

According to the Vedas, various deities rule all four directions, and these directions determine the position of Navagrahas as well. Their influence on us inflict positive energy and self-power, but if there is any lack or error related to the direction while constructing a house, building or shop, then Vastu Dosh is generated. With its effect, negative energy starts to subside in the house, primarily called Vastu Dosh.

House According to Vastu Shastra

If East and North direction of the house is higher than the West and South direction, there will be quarrels, fights and persisting economic problems, so it must be taken care of. If Northwest angle of the house is high, number of enemies increases and accidents occur frequently. It is also known that if any house has a lower Southwestern and Southern side and higher Northeast and Northern side, its owner ruins his wealth in alcohol and other addictions. The kitchen should always be in the Southeastern side and one should not sit facing South while eating.

If you want to build a two-storey building, maintain the height of the building towards East and North to a minimum, as it will circulate positive energy within the building. In the building, doors and windows should be kept in the East and North direction. At any cost, do not keep windows in the South and West direction. According to Vastu, mouth of the vault in which one keeps money should always face towards the North. Bathroom in the East seems auspicious.

Colors According to Vastu Shastra

As per Vastu Shastra, it is reported that the color of main gate of the house facing East and in Southeast direction should be green or blue. Entrance gate facing South  should be of green, red, purple and saffron color. Similarly, Color of the entrance to Southwest and North should be green or yellow kesari or purple. The entrance to the West and Northwest direction should be white or golden in color. Entrance to the North should be sky golden or black in color.

Direction of Bedroom According to Vastu Shastra

Vastu remedies reveal that the wall in front of bedroom’s gate holds of a great importance, as it signifies luck and wealth. Hence, the gate must be accordingly installed. There must be a circular table within the bedroom. One must not sleep beneath a light beam and nearby a wall pillar. Avoid installing glass within kids’ bedroom. There must be an increased quantity of things made of mud and metal. Use lamp instead of tubelight.

According to Vastu Tips, bedrooms of popular people should be constructed in the Southwest direction and children’s beds should be kept in the Northwestern direction. Never sleep with your head in the North and feet in the South. When sleeping in the Southeast (Aagneya) direction, there is a waste of money in spite of husband and wife being hostile to each other. One suffers from diseases and health disorders when sleeping in the Northeast direction. Spiritual power increases by sleeping with feet facing the West side. By keeping your feet towards the North when sleeping, wealth and longevity increases.

Establishing Temple in House According to Vastu Shastra

According to the remedial methodology of Vastu Shastra, North is regarded as the place of Gods and therefore, there should be a temple installed within this direction. This always keeps the positive energy intact within the house and knowledge and skills of family members increases.

While worshiping, one must face towards the East side. Apart from this, one can also pray by facing the North. Doing so brings wealth and prosperity to the house. Also, if you are currently studying, carry out your work facing the East or North.

Pictures in the House According to Vastu Shastra

Under the simplest ways of Vastu Shastra, there shouldn’t be violent or cruel photographs at home or office. Fruits, flowers and pictures of children are symbols of vitality, hence they should be hung on the house’s wall towards the East or North direction. Mountains and natural sceneries depict prosperity and calmness, and must be put up in the South or West direction. Installing pictures of auspicious symbols (Swastika, Mangal Kalash, etc.) brings positive vibes in the house. According to Vastu, paintings and pictures of ancestors should always be hung facing the South direction, and must not be kept within the temple.
