As per the Hindu Panchang, Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on Dwadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha. This festival has a special place in the realms of Hinduism. With the Sun transiting in Capricorn, the Kharmas will end and auspicious events will start again.   

In spite of the end of Kharmas, no marriage celebrations would be observed because of the combustions of Jupiter on February 22. This state of combustion will remain till March 23, 2022, and therefore, the observance of marriages is not considered auspicious. Also, Holashtak will last from March 04 to March 09.
