Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, which is also the third Lunar Eclipse of the year 2020, will occur on 5 July 2020, Sunday. Hindu Panchang says that this event will occur on Poornima tithi during Shukla Paksha in Sagittarius sign and Purva Ashadha Nakshatra

Things To Remember During Sutak Period on Eclipse

Although performing any auspicious task is forbidden for natives during the Sutak period, pregnant women are mainly advised to remain more alert. It is believed that during this period, no pregnant women should step out of her house since negative energy resides in the atmosphere during the Sutak period, which can inadvertently impact the unborn.

Also during the Sutak period, one must avoid carrying out any new task. Drinking or eating during any eclipse is forbidden, although elders or children in the house can be fed. However, you are advised to put some Basil or Tulsi leaves before offering them food. Even today, natives in some regions avoid cooking food on the day of the occurrence of the Eclipse. Types of Lunar Eclipse

The first kind is called Full Lunar Eclipse, where the planet earth completely covers the Moon, thereby restricting any kind of sunlight falling on the Moon. 

A second type of Lunar Eclipse is called a Partial Lunar Eclipse, where the planet Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun and partially covers the Moon. 

The third kind is the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, where the planet Moon gets into the earth’s Penumbra and creates a fragmented image because of the Sun’s rays due to the dullness on the Moon’s surface.
