This grand and beautiful festival lasts for ten days and ends on the day of Anant Chaturdashi i.e. Ganesh Visarjan. On this day, the idol of Ganesha is decorated beautifully and worshipped. Then, the idol is immersed in water with great pomp and show and beating of drums is a followed tradition on this day. It is believed that after this Lord Ganesha returns to his home i.e. Mount Kailash.
